LEITH TO DON SHARED PATHWAY

Progress Updates & Plans

March 2022

The newly constructed bridge across the Don River was a significant step towards the completion of the Coastal Pathway. BridgePro Engineering won the contract to construct the bridge and the civil works were completed by Hardings Hot Mix.

The Don River bridge was officially opened in late February 2022 and has been well received by both locals and visitors alike. It has provided an important link between Don Heads and Coles Beach. Users can now either walk or cycle between Latrobe and Don Heads. Following the completion of the bridge across the Don River, the next phase of the Coastal Pathway will be to connect Don to Leith.

The Leith to Don Shared Pathway section will provide 5km of pathway, with separation from vehicular traffic. The construction for this section was won by Hardings Hot Mix and it is anticipated that construction will commence mid-2022.
