Try A Skill
If you’re aged 10 to 14 and want to test drive a new sport or pastime then Central Coast Council has a fun and free program coming up you won’t want to miss.
Council is holding a Try Skills Weekend on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October where you’ll be able to experience a new sport or activity with others your age.
A number of local clubs and groups have already committed to the program which will enable you to try things like Tae Kwon Do, squash, chess or skating with your friends.
The Council will take care of making sure all participants are safe and properly supervised and will even help get you to the activities you register for.
Keep an eye on your school’s notice boards and socials and check back here at Council’s website regularly to get all the latest information.
Central Coast Youth Strategy
One of the Central Coast Strategic Plan’s major objectives is to provide opportunities for the development and growth of young people and to “engage young people in community decision making“.
The Youth Strategy is a long-term guiding document to allow for consultation and engagement with youth on decisions that affect them, and to remain flexible and responsive to the changing world in which youth and their community live. This will allow for new knowledge to be considered over the expected 5-10 year life of the Strategy.
