Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot Program
Ironcliffe Road is a local collector Road servicing local traffic connecting local schools, sporting venues and local tourist destinations.
The project will be delivered as part of the Australian Government’s Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot program jointly funded by the Central Coast Council.
The section of road under consideration is approximately 9.34km in length on Ironcliffe Road and comprises of distinct sections of urban road and rural road, both sealed and unsealed.
The project will assess treatments in 3 sections of work based on a Road Safety Audit and Australian Road Assessment Program (AusRAP) Report undertaken in 2022:
Section 1: Lester Road to Dial Park Sports Complex Avenue
Section 2: Dial Park to Gravel Section
Section 3:Gravel section to Dial Range Carpark.

Funding
This project is jointly funded by the Australian Government and Central Coast Council on an 80:20 basis.
Project Timeline
May to September 2023 – Pre-construction activities including survey, targeted stakeholder engagement and concept design.
September to December 2023 – Detailed design.
January 2024 to December 2024 – Construction activities.
