Local businesses bring ice-skating magic back to the Central Coast this Christmas

Business Partners are set to star at the grand opening of Summer on Ice next Tuesday, December 10th, as the Central Coast’s new magical summer experience is unveiled.

The blue and white themed evening, held at the Gnomon Pavilion in Ulverstone, is an opportunity for the Central Coast Council and Mayor Cheryl Fuller to thank local Partners. Including companies like Platinum Partner Degree C, that have helped make the family friendly ice-skating experience a reality.

A unique summer experience for the North-West Coast, Summer on Ice will see a 10 x 25-metre artificial skating rink installed on the Ulverstone Wharf. Available from December 10th to 26th (excluding Christmas Day) this experience is perfect for families and children aged 4+. A wide range of children’s activities, food vendors, live music and events are also included in the festivities.

An initiative of Central Coast Council, Mayor Cheryl Fuller says Council has been blown away by the support for the event from local business. “So many businesses, both small and large, put up their hands to back this idea from the start. It’s fantastic to see local partners and Council working together with such enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to watch the magic unfold.”

With over 5,000 tickets already sold for the event, and guests travelling from across the state, Mayor Fuller encourages locals to get in quick. “A skating rink in Tasmania is a rare sight, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic experience. Don’t delay! This event is huge, and we want everyone to enjoy it.”

Tickets for Summer on Ice are available for purchase from Eventbrite, with Council encouraging locals to make the most of the beautiful warm evenings and enjoy the multitude of other great activities and events occurring as part of the festivities.

Events include:

  • Live @ The Wharf with Unlikely Suspects – 6pm Friday December 13th
  • Pub to Pub Run – Saturday December 14th
  • Kitty and the Rockets Free Community Concert – 8pm Saturday December 14th
  • Santa’s Final Visit – 7pm Tuesday December 24th
