When Neale Marshall was planning the Cradle Country Music Festival, he knew the budget would be tight. Thanks to a Central Coast Council community grant, he was able to secure accommodation for travelling artists and cover essential venue costs.
“The grant that Cradle Country Music Festival 2024 received was extremely helpful,” Mr Marshall said. “It helped with some accommodation for mainland artists as well as hire of the venue and other associated costs that occur for the festival.”
“I would recommend groups apply for small grants, as they can help with a lot of the costs that most don’t realise are an essential part of running events for the community.”
Stories like Neale’s are exactly what Central Coast Council aims to support through its 2025–26 Community Grants Program, now open to individuals, community groups and local organisations.
“These grants are about empowering our community,” said Mayor Cheryl Fuller. “Whether it’s a local event, an environmental initiative or youth development, we’re proud to back the people who make the Central Coast a vibrant and inclusive place to live.”
The program supports a wide range of community-led initiatives, including projects, events, personal development and support for not-for-profit groups.
Grants remain open until 31 May 2026 or until funds are fully allocated. Applicants must reside in the Central Coast municipality.
