Adapting to a Changing Climate As climate change impacts become increasingly apparent, it’s crucial to prepare for and mitigate their effects. Our council is proactively addressing climate change through adaptation and mitigation strategies. In 2010, we have created a Climate Action Plan and have been conscious of minimising our environmental footprint by diverting waste to landfill. ‘Environmental Focus’ is also one of the key pillars featured in the Our Place Our Future – The Strategic Plan 2024 – 2034.
