The role of our Council is to provide important services and amenities to the community. We also act as a conduit for not-for-profits and government bodies to share important information.
Here are some key services our Council provides:
- Street lighting, road construction and maintenance
- Asset maintenance
- Waste collection services and stormwater drainage
- Planning and building services
- Regulatory services
- Developing and maintaining sporting facilities, parks, and public reserves
- Managing public assets such as the Ulverstone Waterslide, Ulverstone Community Swimming Pool, community halls, Hive and the Ulverstone Child Care Centre
- Facilitating, supporting, and holding community events and festivals.

Our Council is committed to continuously improving workplace culture and investing in our people. As a part of this commitment, staff and Councillors were asked to set their own values, which now serve as the target organisational culture we all wish to work in.
These values are currently on display throughout the workplace and have formed the cornerstone of improved service delivery. They reflect our Council’s commitment to how we go about delivering services and achieving excellence when serving our community. Plus, they also read C.O.A.S.T! So, as Central Coasters, this is the perfect acronym to remember them with.
