The North West Transmission Upgrades Project – permit for Palmerston to Hampshire section application is now on public exhibition, from 20 September 2025 to 18 October 2025.
This is a Major Infrastructure Project being assessed under the Major Infrastructure Development Approvals Act 1999 and the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993.
The application is for the section of the major infrastructure project from Palmerston to Sheffield, Sheffield to Burnie via a spur line to Heybridge, Burnie to East Cam, East Cam to Hampshire, and includes the substation at Hampshire as well as associated ancillary facilities.
