Students at Ulverstone Primary School have more opportunities to play and be active following the refurbishment of the school’s ageing netball and foursquare courts.
With support from Council’s Community Grants Program and funds raised by the School Association, the school installed two new height-adjustable netball posts and repainted its netball, tennis and foursquare markings.
The courts are now used by students before school and during recess and lunch, as well as for physical education lessons and local netball training. Teams using the area can also play full games.
“This project has turned what was once a tired old court into a usable space again, increasing recreational opportunities for students and our community,” the School Association said.
Applications are now open for Central Coast Council’s 2026–27 grants program, supporting community projects, local events, eligible not-for-profit organisations and individuals taking part in national or international opportunities.
Funding is available through:
- Community Grants Scheme
- Individual Development Grants
- Community Facilities and Equipment Support Grants
- Event Funding Program
Applications are open until 31 May 2027, or until the available funding has been allocated.
Funding eligibility, requirements and conditions vary between programs.
