We’re inviting community feedback on Central Coast Council’s Draft Active Transport Strategy, which will help guide future decisions about footpaths, crossings, shared paths, cycling links and mobility access across the region.
The draft Strategy has been prepared to help make walking, cycling and wheeling safer, easier and more connected across Central Coast.
Central Coast already has many well-loved walking areas, coastal paths and shared spaces, but we know the network does not work well for everyone. Some areas have missing footpath links, uneven or ageing surfaces, accessibility challenges, safety concerns or limited cycling infrastructure.
The draft Strategy looks at how people move around Central Coast now, where the main gaps are, and how future improvements can be prioritised over time.
At this stage, Council is seeking feedback on the overall direction of the draft Strategy, including whether the priorities, principles and proposed approach reflect community needs.
There are a few ways to have your say:
- Visit My Central Coast, Council’s online engagement platform, to review the draft Strategy and complete the survey.
- Pick up a printed survey or copy of the draft Strategy from Council’s Ulverstone Administration Centre, 19 King Edward St, Ulverstone, or Penguin Service Centre, 78 Main Rd, Penguin.
- Contact Council by phone or email if you need help to take part or would prefer to provide feedback another way.
Support is available for anyone who needs assistance to take part, and alternative formats of the draft Strategy can be provided on request.
Feedback is open until 11pm Sunday 31 May 2026.
