Central Coast Council has released its 2024-25 Annual Report, highlighting a year of strengthened organisational culture, major project delivery, and a return to financial surplus – achieved one year ahead of schedule.
Council reported an operating surplus of $106,000, reflecting improved financial discipline, clearer planning, and stronger organisational capability across its 230-person workforce.
In 2024-25 Council delivered 93 capital projects and 63 strategic actions, and achieved a 71% capital delivery rate – a significant improvement on previous years (42% and 58%). Ten community conversations were also held, helping shape planning, projects and service delivery.
Major highlights include remediation works at Gunns Plains and Lowana Road, progress on the Ironcliffe Road upgrades, completion of the Turners Beach Coastal Pathway link, and the opening of the award-winning Tobruk Park Sensory Garden.
Community events and engagement also grew strongly, with Summer on Ice attracting 6,500 attendees and digital engagement growing markedly.
The year’s standout initiative was Our Homes – Our Future, Tasmania’s most comprehensive regional housing strategy, identifying capacity for more than 6,000 new dwellings and fully funded by the Australian Government.
Mayor Cheryl Fuller and CEO Vicki Brereton said the year represented “meaningful transition and progress”, resulting in a “stronger, more focused and more united” organisation.
