Message from the Mayor
Planning for the future is one of the most exciting and challenging responsibilities of Council and the starting point for us, is to have a clear understanding of what is important to you, your family and your future.
In 2014 we worked with our community to develop a 10-year Strategic Plan. It was based on what so many people told us they wanted our Council to focus on when it came to making the Central Coast more liveable, sustainable, connected, creative and community orientated.
The Strategic Plan is the base for all our decision making and each year we plan the actions which will help us achieve our vision. I am pleased that over the last five years, much of what we set out to do in 2014 has already been achieved such as Dial Park, Gateway signage, significant infrastructure works and the progression of the Ulverstone Cultural Precinct now underway.
But is the direction you wanted us to take five years ago, the same today? Circumstances change, we have different needs, so it’s time for us to review that Plan and ensure we are on track for the next five years. That’s where each of you come in.
What do you want the Council to focus on over the next five years to strengthen our communities, make them more resilient and sustainable, and to enrich our lives?
Please take time to read the Strategic Plan 2014-2024, participate in one of the community meetings we have coming up, and respond to the questions we’re seeking your answers to.
I look forward to having you involved in the process and I hope you will encourage others to do the same to help us build a safer, stronger, healthier and more liveable Central Coast.
